Security as the Foundation of Trust — How We Strengthen Data Protection for Our Clients

Posted on October 14, 2025October 24, 2025

In today’s digital world, cybersecurity has become one of the most critical factors for any modern business. At Files.fm, we handle millions of data units every day, entrusted to us by users from Latvia and around the world — and that trust is our greatest asset. For us, data security is not just a technical issue; it’s a core part of our company culture and responsibility.

To further enhance our systems’ resilience and response capabilities, we are implementing an EU co-financed project: “Implementation of a Centralized SIEM and XDR Security Monitoring Solution.”
This initiative enables us to introduce advanced cybersecurity monitoring and incident management mechanisms, helping us better protect our infrastructure, user data, and digital services.

Our Goal – Security as a Continuous Process

We believe that security is not a one-time project, but an ongoing process of development and vigilance.
Cyber threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and only through continuous monitoring, learning, and adaptation can we maintain a strong defense.
Alongside technical improvements, we also invest in strengthening our internal security culture. All our employees participate in regular training sessions and practical security exercises — because we want every team member to understand their role in the overall security chain.
Even the most advanced technologies cannot replace human awareness and responsibility.

Modern Security Monitoring Across the Entire Infrastructure

As part of the project, we are deploying the Wazuh SIEM/XDR solution, which ensures centralized security monitoring across our entire infrastructure.
This platform allows us to analyze security events in real time, aggregate log files, identify anomalies, and receive early alerts about potential threats.
The system processes data from our servers, network devices, applications, and cloud services — creating a unified security overview.
If suspicious activity occurs — such as repeated failed login attempts or unusual data transfers — we are alerted immediately and can respond without delay.
This approach significantly reduces response times to security incidents, helps us better understand potential risks, and prevents issues before they escalate.
We use automated rules and behavioral analysis to detect anomalies early and protect both our internal infrastructure and user data.

Trust – The Core of Our Relationship with Clients

We understand that our users entrust us with personal and professional information — documents, photos, project data, and other valuable content.
That’s why we do everything possible to ensure this trust is well-placed.
For us, data security means transparency, accountability, and consistent application of security principles across all business processes.
We want our clients to be confident that their data is safe with Files.fm.
The EU co-financed cybersecurity project helps us reach an even higher level of security, which is essential on an international scale.
It strengthens our reputation and enables us to compete with leading European cloud service providers.

Building a Shared Future of Digital Resilience

We see security as a field that evolves alongside technology and society.
That’s why we share our experience with other IT companies and actively contribute to the development of Latvia’s cybersecurity community.
Our goal is to help create an environment where digital security becomes the norm — not the exception.

Looking ahead, we plan to expand our security analysis capabilities using artificial intelligence and machine learning — enabling us to predict threats before they occur.
We want security to be seamless yet ever-present — enhancing user experience while providing a trusted environment for everyone.

With this project, we reaffirm our commitment to being a reliable, secure, and transparent digital service provider, operating according to the highest cybersecurity standards.
For us, security means more than just technology — it’s about trust and respect in our relationships with clients, partners, and society as a whole.

This project is implemented with the support of the European Union under the program “Cybersecurity Transformation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.”
Co-financed by the European Union.
