Virtual file support is available in the latest version of Files.fm Sync. Virtual files are downloaded to the computer only when they are opened, removing the need to download all the synchronized files, freeing up space on the computer.

You can enable virtual file support by clicking on “Enable virtual file support” in Sync:
By default, all files will be converted to “virtual” – filenames will be displayed on folders on the computer, but the files themselves won’t be stored on the computer. When a user attempts to open a file, it will be downloaded from the server. You can select files and folders that you want to always remain on your computer – available without the Internet. You can do this by right-clicking on the file or folder, selecting “Files.fm Sync” -> “Make always available locally”:
